Anna (Annie) Louise Tomlinson, age 76, of Mt. Sterling, Ohio passed away on Tuesday May 28th, 2024 at OSU Wexner Medical Center, surrounded by her beloved family and friends. Annie was the oldest of 2 children born to the late Eleanor (Sayre) Wilson and Ernest Rice. Annie is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Michael, her 4 children Eric (Dorea), Megan, Karin (Bryan), and Amy (Mo). 14 grandchildren; Emma, Zach, Nicole, Seth, Ella, Evan, Caleb, Lucas, Ethan, Josiah, Sarah, Marlee, Greyson, Aubrey, great grandson Bradley and her beloved brother, John (Deborah).

Annie graduated from Miami Trace High School in Washington Courthouse, Ohio, Class of 1965 and then Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio class of 1968. A lifelong follower of Christ, Annie dedicated her life to service, family and community. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mt. Sterling. She served as an RN Nurse in Anchorage, Alaska; Flagstaff, Arizona; Washington Courthouse, Ohio and Hospice in London, Ohio. She volunteered in the food pantry at church and helped grow and expand that service and ministry to include school supplies, Christmas presents and many other basic needs and was instrumental in involving not just her own church but those in the community as well to culminate in The Mt. Sterling Community Center where Annie served as director from 2007 until her retirement in 2020.

Annie deeply loved her family and was so very proud of each and every family member. Her joy and love for family, gardening, her community and so many other stories will be shared with all during her Celebration of Life service to be held at the Mt. Sterling Community Center on Sunday, July 14th, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers for her service, donations to the Heifer Project (www.heifer.org) or charity of your choosing to honor Annie’s long life of serving and caring for others can be made in her name.
