Annie McGuire, 85 born December 8, 1928 in Madison, Orange County, Virginia has passed after a short illness at Brown Memorial in Circleville, Ohio on October 18, 2014. Annie spent her career working in grocery services, which she retired from Jewett's IGA in Mt. Sterling, Ohio. Annie was an avid sports fan, never missing a Cincinnati Reds or Ohio State Buckeyes game. She had a great love of cooking and canning her own vegetables from the garden she grew with her Granddaughter Sissy (Kim).
She is preceded in death by, her Father-Eugene, Mother- Lena, Brothers-Gene & Allen, Sisters-Sara & Dorothy Mae and Rosie, Sons-Selkirk Jr. & Thomas, Grandson-Tim Fast.
She is survived by Granddaughter, Kim “Sissy” Fast, whom she made her home with, along with great-grandsons Hunter and Paul. Son-James Atkinson, Sisters-Ruth, Louise, and Mary, Special Niece Beverly “Cookie” and lots of other nieces and nephews. Annie was loved by her family, friends and all the “adopted” grandchildren that knew her only as Grandma and she will be dearly missed. Services will be held at Porter's Funeral Home on Thursday, October 23, 2014, calling hours are from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and a graveside only service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Pleasant Cemetery at 1:00pm.
