Betty (Quincel) Harness, age 80 of Orient died July 31, 2013 at her residence. She was born July 20, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio.
Betty was retired from Bob Evans Farms Corporate Offices after 25 years as the Head Receptionist. Member of The United Church of Mt. Sterling; Evans Senior Center, Grove City; Central High School Alumni Assn.; original member of the Hank Newman “Georgia Crackers” Square Dance Club; former member of American Legion Auxillary.
Preceded in death by parents Harold and Carrie Quincel; husband, Charles (Mick); son, Mickey Joseph; sisters Shirley Kise and Teresa Brown and brother, Paul Quincel.
She is survived by Daughter, Tamara (Dave) Tingle of Orient; Son, Gregory (Sherry)Harness of Circleville; grandson, Gregory (Najette) Harness, II; granddaughters, Micki (Andrew) Conklin, Stacey Harness, Stephanie (Curtis) Lohr, Ariel (Matt) Matusek, and Taylor (Jacob) Adams; great-granddaughters, Brynna Lohr and Piper Conklin; great-grandson, Cooper Lohr; sister Patricia (Quincel) Riley; brothers, Ronald (Geraldine) Quincel, Robert (Marjorie) Quincel, and Al (Kyleen) Quincel; half sisters, Jacquelyn (Bill) Simmons, Tona (Roger) Blankenship and Deonna J. Vaughn; step-mother, Ruth Quincel; sisters-in-law, Donna Quincel, Jeanette (Ronald) Sherman and Alice (Paul) Parker. Best friends Annamae Lawless and Goldie Patrick; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked hard all of her life and believed things would always get better. She loved singing and dancing and spending time with her grandchildren and particularly with her great granddaughters. She will be sorely missed.
A Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Dan Shipley officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 4th from 1 – 5 p.m.
