Courtney Helen Potter, age 36, passed away on Tuesday, January 31st at 7:12pm at the Ohio State Ross Heart Hospital, following an extensive health battle. She was born on October 19, 1986 in Washington Court House, Ohio. She attended Westfall High School, where she was a proud member of the marching band. She was formerly employed at Walmart in Circleville, where she was known to many as the friendliest girl in the deli department, prior to her long-battled illness.
Courtney is preceded in her death by her grandmothers: Velma Wilkins and Loretta Potter, grandfather John Wilkins, and her aunts: Melissa (Lisa) Wilson, Melinda Fifer, and Lori McDonald.
Surviving are her parents, Beth and Loyd Wood. Her sister, Brooke (Harley) Johnson, her much-loved niece and nephew Oakley and Jeremiah Johnson. Along with her aunt Camela McDonald, her grandfather Bill Harrington, and several special cousins, extended family members and friends.
Courtney was well-known for her kindness, love of children, and ability to make a new friend. If you were ever fortunate enough to know Courtney, she would’ve never forgotten about you and likely checked in on you often with a “whatcha doin’” phone call.
The family is calling family and friends to join them on SUNDAY, February 5, 2023, at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. MAIN ST, MOUNT STERLING, OH, 43143, at 12pm, with a Funeral Service to follow at 2pm. The family will be hosting a celebration of life dinner at the Darbyville Community Church afterwards.
