Diana Lynn (Liff) Doggett, 75, of Mt. Sterling, OH, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 20th, 2023. She is now celebrating with her Heavenly Father. Known for her extraordinary kindness, tireless patience, and energetic personality, Diana lived a small-town life grounded in a love of God, family, and hard work. She will be missed dearly by her many friends and family.
Born April 19, 1948, to George and Jewel Liff, Diana graduated from Westfall High School and began a 35-year career at the General Electric plant in Circleville where she and her sister helped create award-winning pumpkin-parade floats for numerous years. Because of her love of work, she also spent 2 years of her retirement working at the Staples Distribution Center where she made more life-long friendships.
A story she loved to tell was how she, and her husband Phil, were married twice. Due to his age, they were wed in North Carolina on July 17th, and then in their church before family and friends on July 19th, 1967. She remained a loving, loyal wife and caregiver until Phil’s passing in 2013.
Diana’s legacy will be her huge heart, joyfulness, and overall love-of-life. Both Phil and Diana would do anything for their family. She was an avid Ohio State Football fan and often reminisced about watching football with her dad. She could be heard cheering for “her Buckeyes” throughout the neighborhood! Diana was also very involved with her church, Mt. Sterling Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed socializing with her many friends and family. She truly was a bright light in this world.
After battling Covid in 2020, Diana was supported by her family and friends as her dementia progressed. She was very thankful for the love and care and particularly appreciated the frequent visits from her special friend Nancy Lucas, and sisters-in-law Susie Liff, and Belinda James.
Diana was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Doggett, parents George & Jewel Liff, Sister Sandra Dixon, and infant grandchild Kennedy Lynn. Diana is survived by her loving children Angela (Kevin) Griffin, Arica (Joseph) Blunt; her grandchildren Austin, Taylor, Kaden, Owen, Corbin, Emerson, and Eden; brothers Mr. Gary (Susie) Liff & Mr. Leslie (Kathy) Liff; many beloved friends and extended family.
