Edith Pennington

Edith B. Pennington, age 80 of Mt. Sterling died April 18, 2013 at her residence. She was born March 7, 1933 in Greensburg, Indiana. She was the daughter of Walter and Rose (Bishop) Woods.
Edith loved to cook and collected numerous cookbooks; loved flowers and flower gardening; member of the Mt. Sterling Ladies Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by parents, brother Dalas Woods, sisters Annie Dwenger, Callie Granger, Thelma Matney, and Hazel Pennington.
Edith is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Carl Pennington; children Larry Pennington (Cheryl), Jeri Evans, and Ellen (Jason) Barnes; 5 grandchildren Carl (Amanda), Tosa (Nathan), Eric (Christy), Jessica (Zack), and Kyle; 6 great-grandchildren Sarah Ann, Winter, Evanna, Taylor, Jacob, and Kylee; brother Melvin Woods; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.
A Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Nathan Broome officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11 – 1 on Tuesday at the funeral home.
