Florence Musselman, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 8 at Dublin Methodist Hospital. She was born in Guyan Township, Gallia County, Ohio but spent the last 80 years living in Harrisburg/Orient, Ohio. Florence was a fun loving lady, and nothing was more important than talking to, laughing with, and spending time with her family and friends.
Florence took great pride in her role as a farmer’s wife - planning and feeding all who worked and played around the farm.
As the first full time FEMALE bus driver for Westfall school district, Florence LOVED the children on her bus. She also took great pride as a sub & full time Orient Rural Mail Carrier for 20+ years.
Florence was a member of the Harrisburg United Methodist Church, the Harrisburg UMC Women’s group, and Mt. Sterling Eastern Star. She loved playing Euchre in her card clubs, especially at GC’s Planks.
She was preceded in death by husband of 64 years Thomas Musselman, parents Clinton and Grace Daniels, brothers Willie and Hayward, sisters Thelma and Eleanor. She is survived by son Tom (Jean) Musselman, daughters Karen (Bill) Grizzell, and Tonya (Chuck) Ruoff; grandchildren Mark (Wendy), Phil, Jeannie (Brian), Bennett (Lisa), Jeanette (Seth), Chelsea (Jeremy), Chaz (Meghan); great-grandchildren Cody (Jaclyn), Payton (Brandon), Brianna (Levi), Brittany (Ben), Abigale, Kadee, Lane, Levi, Callie, Knox, Miles, Vivian, and Avie.; great-great-granddaughter Zoey.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 12th from 3-7 PM at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. MAIN STREET, MT. STERLING, OH. A funeral service will be held at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME at 10AM, on Thursday, July 13th, Pastor Angie Taylor officiating with the interment following at Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Harrisburg United Methodist Church in Florence’s memory.
