Frank D. Brown

Frank D. Brown, a long-time resident of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 16th, 2021 at Mt. Carmel Hospital after a brave battle with pneumonia. 

He was a devoted and loving husband to his first wife Judy Brown of 54 years.

Frank was born in Soldier, Kentucky in 1940.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ova and Dorothy (Roseberry) Brown, brother Vernon Brown and his first wife Judy (Elliott) Brown. 

He is survived by his son James “Jay” (Christi) Brown, granddaughter Stephanie, 2nd wife Bobbie (McCarty) Brown, and sisters Dixie Dill, Janet (Bill) Erving, brother Ken (June) Brown, great grandchildren William and Winston along with several nieces and nephews. 

Frank was a longtime employee of Abbott Labs and retired with 45 years of service. He enjoyed the many friendships that he had made over the years.  He loved to work in his yard and garden. He also enjoyed volunteering at The Bluebird Retirement Community the last few years.  Those who knew him will remember his kind and helpful manner. He will be greatly missed by those he laughed with, lived for, and loved. 

The family will receive friends at a graveside service at Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Sterling on Thursday January 21st at Noon. Officiating will be Pastors Neal and Caroline Williams.   

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to The Bluebird Retirement Community for a memorial bench and tree to be placed in Franks honor.
