JOHNSON Gary Edward Johnson, age 72, of Mount Sterling, Ohio passed away peacefully from an extended illness on July 9, 2015. Gary was born October 25, 1942 in Delaware, Ohio to the late Lewis and Helen (Brandon) Johnson. Gary served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a meat cutter for many years and retired from SHOWA. Gary loved his family, camping at Deer Creek and was known for his sense of humor. He spent every Sunday in the summer watching NASCAR and loved attending dirt track races.
Preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his wife Shirley Buckler; daughter Debbie (Johnson) Selmon; stepsons Jeff Buckler, Toby ( Shannon) Buckler; grandchildren Megan, Eben, Dominic, Gavin, Braden, Brooklyn, Elizabeth "EJ", Brynna and great-granddaughter Avery; brothers Steve (Linda) Johnson, Johnny (Jane) Johnson; sisters Betty (Larry) Royster, Nancy (Scott) Picklesimer;; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Dortha Ross officiating with the burial following in Madison Mills Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday from 6 - 8 pm.
