Gloria Penn

Gloria Penn, 91 of Springfield, died August 21, 2018.  She was born Oct. 28, 1926 in Stickney, W. VA. Retired after 34 years of working for the Federal Government while achieving many awards for her excellent service.  11/14/1960 she was the first to use the RAMAC 305 at Lockbourne A.F.B. while training co-workers to operate the newest machine. When transferring from Lockbourne A.F.B. to Wright Patterson A.F.B., she became the Accounting Supervisor for the Headquarters Bldg.  WPAFB is where she completed her career as a civil service employee for the U.S. Air Force.   Gloria was preceded in death by Mother Emma M Clarridge, Step Father Virgil L Clarridge, and Sister Frances I Green. Survived by son William K Camden, daughter Vicki L Johnson, and son Robbie L Penn, all of Springfield; grandchildren Chad M Johnson, William P Johnson, Austin L Penn, all of Springfield; great-grandchildren Devohn M Johnson, Ryleigh M Johnson, and Dillon K Johnson, Springfield; many cousins. Family will receive friends on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main St., Mt. Sterling, OH. 43143.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 officiated by Pastor Mark R McVey.  Final resting place will be in Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.
