Jackie (Jack) Lee McKinney
Jack McKinney, age 81, entered the light to the heavens above on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, following an extended illness. Born September 1, 1940, in Mount Sterling, Ohio, son of the late Leo Lloyd McKinney and Gwendolyn Berle Bochard McKinney Kasper. Jack was a patriotic United States Army veteran. He took his basic training at Ft. Knox, KY and transportation supply school at Ft. Lee, VA. He was then stationed at Ft. Bliss, TX from 1960-1963. He worked in the grocery business for over 40+ years including management and meat cutting. He was a devoted Zane Trace High School sports fan and an avid Ohio State fan. He loved WWE wrestling and would never miss the weekly matches on television. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Kyoko Asano McKinney. Survived by children Bruce (Marilyn) Jackson of Westerville and Jackquelyn (Mark) Shepard of Chillicothe. Grandchildren Doug (Emily) Jackson of Gainesville, FL; Jordan (Chelsie) Baker of Washington Court House; Trey (Maigan) Baker of Ft. Lewis, WA; Hannah (Will) Chadwick of Cooper City, FL; and Rachel (Joshua) Gordon of Concord, NC. Great Grandchildren, Sophia and Matthew Jackson; Brynlee, Piper, Wrigley, and Juniper Baker; Lennon, Grey, Lincoln, and Oakley Baker; and Avery Chadwick. He also leaves behind his best buddy, his cat, Tinker. A very special thank you to his cousin and best friend, Mary Mason, who provided him with loving companionship for the last few years. Tremendous thanks to the National Church Residences Bristol Village Hospice, especially his aide, Dot, and nurse, Stephanie. A graveside service will be held on THURSDAY, July 7, 2022 11:00 AM at Pleasant Cemetery,14220 Era Rd., Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 with Pastor Frank Klobucar officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution be made to: Zane Trace HS Athletic Boosters, 946 State Route 180, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
