James Jacobs

James W. (Jim) Jacobs, 95 of Mt. Sterling died Tuesday, March 12, 2013. He was born May 9, 1917 in Mt. Sterling, Ohio. Jim was in construction most of his life.
Jim always wanted to help the people living in Mt. Sterling and make the village a better place to live. He was the builder of many homes and businesses in Mt. Sterling, including the funeral home.
He also served in the Civilian Air Corps during World War II.
Preceding him in death was his parents Edward and Ella (Shephard) Jacobs; wife Opal Jacobs; brothers Harold, Ralph, Tom, Floyd, Robert, Glen, and infant Elmer; sisters Marie Warden and Betty Jacobs.
He is survived by his loving daughters and son-in-law, Linda Widen of Grove City, Terri and Bill Wilson of London; grandchildren Jennifer (BJ) Spurlock of AZ., Jamey (Ciara) Widen of London, Amber (Sean) Thompson of Plain City, Troy (Rachelle) Wilson of Delaware, OH., Derek Wilson (Lindsey Coughlin) of London; great-grandchildren Brittany Widen, Brooke Spurlock, Alyssa Spurlock, and Cole Spurlock, Dylan and Tristan Widen, Noah and Michaela Thompson; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling, Ohio 43143. Rev. Steve Brown officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday from 5 – 8 p.m.
