James Smith

James David Smith, age 76 of Mt. Sterling, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at his residence. He was born Nov. 13, 1935 in West Van Lear, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Elijah and Roxie (Webb) Smith.
Jim was a member of the Masonic Lodge #269 F & AM in Mt. Sterling; Sterling Chapter #74 O.E.S.; Knights of Pythias; retired as Equipment Manager for Mid-Ohio Chemical; most of all, enjoyed his employment at Rivers Farms hauling grain.
Preceded in death by daughter, Brenda LaFuse (10-11-97); 2 sisters Kathleen Conley and Geraldine Williams.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patsy; son David (Kathy) Smith; daughter Kim (Roger) Johnson; 4 grandchildren Brittany LaFuse, Parker LaFuse, Ryan Smith, and Ashley Johnson; son-in-law Jeff LaFuse; many nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
A Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. The interment will follow in Pleasant Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 4th from 4 – 8 p.m.
