Jean Furniss

Jean Furniss, age 96, of Orient, Ohio, died Monday, January 20, 2025, at home. She was preceded in death by her husband Darrell, son Rick, daughter Jo Remy, and four siblings. Jean is survived by her daughter Jerri Furniss (John Schott), granddaughter Marjean Remy, grandson Wayne Remy, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ronnie and Bonnie Furniss of Orient, sister-in-law Betty Moge of Coca, Florida, and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Darby Township was her home for most of her life. As a farm wife, Jean did many things she never thought she would. Always side by side, Darrell and Jean farmed, raised a family, and provided stewardship for their township. Their presence will always be greatly missed.

Family will receive friends from 4:00p.m.-7:00p.m. MONDAY, JANUARY 27, 2025 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 where her Funeral Service will be held 10:00a.m. TUESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2025 with Dr. Bob Ahern, officiating.  Jean will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Darrell at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.
