Junk, John, age 76 of Cardington, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015. He was born November 5, 1938, in Mount Sterling, Ohio to the late Webster and Mildred Junk. John loved horses; he trained and showed horses until the late 1980s. He helped with 4-H, and was part of the first 4-H horse club in Franklin County. John attended The Ohio State University, before joining the US Army and serving his country from 1958-1962. He retired from Fairfield engineering in 2003. John is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Webster. He is survived by his son, JD Junk, of Caladona, OH; his wife, Lilah, of Cardington; sister, Joy Wilson, of Washington Court House; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Family will greet friends from 1-2pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOM, 331 W. Main Street, Mount Sterling, OH 43143. The funeral service will follow at 2pm.
