John P. Mitchem, age 91 of South Solon died June 9, 2014 at Darby Glenn Nursing Home in Hilliard. He was born December 7, 1922 in Tazewell County, Virginia. He was the son of the late John E. and Barbara (Nippers) Mitchem.
Also preceding him in death was his loving wife of 71 years, Nancy Elizabeth Mitchem (1 -12-2014); several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by children, John (Virginia) Mitchem, Steve (Virginia) Mitchem, Debbie (Tom) Montesanti, Nancy (Michael) Wood, David (Emily) Mitchem, Brian (Lisa) Mitchem; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Helen Odam and Sadie Sluss.
All are welcome to attend a Graveside service on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in Range Township Cemetery Sedalia. Rev. Dan Bell officiating. The Fayette County Honor Guard will perform a military service for the World War II Army veteran. .
