Joseph H. Belt

Joseph Homer Belt, age 82, of Orient, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Born in Fayette County, Joe graduated from Madison Mills High School, and attended The Ohio State University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Germany as a lead aircraft mechanic. After returning from his service, he worked the family business, R.C. Belt, Inc. International Harvester Dealership, with his father in Washington C.H., and finished his work-life career as a farmer until his retirement in 2018.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annalee Belt (Fry), his parents R. Carlton and Ella May Belt and his sister Ellen Delay (Belt). Joe is survived by his children, James (Jen) Belt of Orient, and Thaddeus (Paula) Belt of Grove City; his grandchildren, Sydney Belt, Stevie Belt, and Anna Belt; his brothers and sister, Bob (Nancy) Belt of Worthington, OH, Jane Belt of Columbus, OH and David Belt of New York, NY, brother-in-law John Delay and their families; and many other loving family members and friends.

Family will receive visitors at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 (740)-869-2777 from 5:00-7:00p.m. MONDAY, AUGUST 26, 2024 and his Memorial Service will follow the visitation and begin at 7:00p.m. MONDAY with Reverend Wes Steele, officiating.
