Joyce Weir

Joyce L.Weir, age 81 of Mt. Sterling went home to be with her Lord on December 5, 2015. It was with great sadness, but her family was by her side. Joyce was the loving and caring matriarch of our family for the last fifteen years of her life. She was born May 13, 1934 in Milledgeville, Fayette County, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her father, the Rev. Donald Carter, her mother, Maxine, her brother Steve Carter, and nephew, Mike Haller.
She is survived by her son, Tim; sister Carol (John) Haller of Mt. Sterling; brothers Don (Ann) Carter of VanWert, Ohio, Mike (Sharon) Carter of London, sister-in-law, Debbie Carter also of London; several nieces and nephews.
Joyce was the former Mayor of Mt. Sterling. She was the pianist for the Church of Christ In Christian Union in Mt. Sterling. She really loved her church family. The family would like to thank the Church and all the neighbors for their thoughts and prayers. Also for all the food extended to the family. What a wonderful town Mt. Sterling is in a time of need!
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. John Burr and Rev. Dortha Ross officiating with the interment following in Kirkwood Cemetery in London. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 8 from 4 - 7 pm.
