Martha Myers

Martha E. Myers, age 90, of Mt. Sterling, OH, passed away June 15, 2011 in her home after a long illness. She was born August 1, 1920 in Cincinnati, OH. Daughter of the late Aaron Johnson and Nettie K. (Plummer). Preceded in death by her parents, dear grandmother, Jemima Plummer Cornett; sister, Esther (Paul) Webb; brother, William (Florence) Johnson; and daughter, Esther J. Mason. Martha graduated from London High School in 1939 and Hiwassee College in Madisonville, TN in 1941. She married Edson E. Myers of London, OH on July 1, 1941 and was a civilian worker in the Portsmouth Navy Ship Yard during WW11. Martha was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Ruth Naomi Circle, Charter Member Madison County Historical Society, life member of Good Time Quilters Guild, and Bill Moose Muzzle Loading Gun Club. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 70 years, Edson; three children, Virginia Morgan, Edson (Linda) Myers, and Ruth (Daniel) Sapp; son-in-law, Elmer Mason; sisters-in-law, Susan (Bob) Kennedy and Mary Myers; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday July 9 at 2 PM at The Trinity United Methodist Church 8530 Lilly Chapel- Georgesville Rd. London, OH 43140.
