Mary Lou Junk, 86, of Mt. Sterling passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 31, 1932 in Atlanta, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Porter Mills and Jessie (Parker) Mills. Mary Lou was a member of The United Church of Mt. Sterling, a sales clerk for Rapp's True Value Hardware for many years, belonged to several card clubs which included both Bridge and Eukre, she never knew a stranger, and most of all, she dearly loved and enjoyed her great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Fred; sisters Helen, Martha Jane and Betty. She is survived by son, Sam and wife Diane Junk, daughter, Lisa and husband Pete Sullivan; 6 grandchildren Amy (Jason) Brown, Allison (Cory) Evans, Ashley Mennick, Brooks Mennick, Parker Sullivan and Hayley Sullivan; great-grandchildren Cambry Brown, Wyatt, Quinn and Travis Evans; sister, Eleanor Alkire; Best Friend, Jo Riddle; and a host of friends. Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. A Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. with Rev. Dortha Ross officiating. Her final resting place will be in Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. In keeping with her wishes, she requested cremation. In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorial contributions to the Madison-Plains Scholarship Fund or Kindred Hospice, 540 Office Center Place, Suite 100, Gahanna, OH., 43230. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice and the staff of Signature Health Care in Washington C.H. for all their loving and special care that was extended to their Mother/Grandmother during her stay at the health care facility.
