Mary M. O’Day, age 101, of Orient, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Born in Mt. Sterling, Ohio to the late Tom and Ida Dunn, Mary was a graduate and Class Salutatorian of Monroe High School, Class of 1940. Mary was a kind, loving wife, and mother who loved her family and was an exceptional cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60-plus years Jim O’Day; sister: Bonnie “Toot” Silcox; brother: Gerald Dunn; and son-in-law: Michael Henson.
Mary is survived by her children: Vonnie (Bill) Niesz, Cherie Henson, Cindy (Bobby) Brichelle, Gus (Debbie) O’Day, Tony (Debbie) O’Day, Nick (Velvet) O’Day; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Patsy Darling, and Joann Rodgers; and many nieces, and nephews.
The family will welcome friends on TUESDAY, February 11, 2025, from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. MAIN STREET, MT. STERLING, OHIO, 43143. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Ohio.
