Mathew "Matt" E. Harris

Mathew E. “Matt” Harris, age 43, of Mt. Sterling, OH, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, at his residence. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, July 28, 1978, at 11:17 am. to Susan Casey Tedrow and the late Edwin F. Harris. He was a graduate of Madison Plains High School Class of 1996 and the University of Northwestern Ohio.  Matt was an employee with Sims Construction, London, OH. He spent a lifetime either driving Semis, working on big equipment, moving large equipment, or helping friends with their vehicles.  He was a genuine giver that seemed born to share his talents, lending his friendship, and smiling personality with his friends.  Matt worked very hard at whatever he did, rarely sitting idle and taking time for himself. In addition to his father, Matt was preceded in death by his very special stepfather that raised him, guided him in so many ways and broke his heart when he passed, William “Bill” Tedrow; his stepsister, Billie Jo Tedrow; his fraternal grandparents, Hiram and Lillian Harris, Jermyn, PA; maternal grandparents, Alan and Priscilla Casey; and Uncle Ted Casey; Spring Valley, IL.   Matt is survived by his most proud accomplishment, Thomas Mathew Hughes-Harris; beloved mother, Susan C. Tedrow; beloved sister Casey (Jason) Alkire; Denise Tedrow, Derrik (Robin) Tedrow; Patricia Tedrow-Davis; his nieces and nephews Jacob, Caden and Avery Alkire; Olivia Davis; Steven Robertson, Erica Sewar; Colby Tedrow; Connor and Colin Weekley, great nephew Nolan and great niece Charlotte; Aunts, uncle and cousins; and very special friend Meggen Stonerock; and very dear friends Andy Bricker, Russell Wischmeyer and Ron VanSickle.  Friends will be received from 4:00-7:00 pm. THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2022, at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 WEST MAIN STREET, MT. STERLING, OH 43143 where his Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am. FRIDAY, FEBURARY 18, 2022, with additional visitation before the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Pastor Dan Shipley officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt.
