Ned A. Musselman

Ned Alan Musselman, age 84 of Orient, passed away on June 27, 2024.

He was born July 11, 1939, in Pickaway County. Ned, a lifelong resident of Darby Township, was a former employee of Lennox Industries for 27 years and a dedicated township trustee for 40 years. This passionate caretaker of Darby Township considered the community a top priority, ready to assist and advocate for residents. 

Ned was an avid outdoorsman and a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and Ohio Gun Collectors Association (OGCA). If he wasn’t hunting or fishing, Ned could be heard from the stands, yelling at referees during his grandchildren’s sporting events whether home or away. 

Ned, the last surviving member of Bennett and Esther Musselman’s family, was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles (Doris), James (Pauline), Jack, William, Richard, Thomas (Florence), Jerry, David “Rip”; and sisters, Elizabeth “Jane” (John), Jeanette “Skeet” (Leslie), Josephine “Pill” (Otho), Betty (Edwin), and Ruth Jean “Pud” (Larry).

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Betty (Looney); sons, Matthew (Dawn), Mark, and Mitch; grandchildren, Adam (Jesika), Alisha (Dan), Aric (Carlin), Amie, Ashley (Justin), Paige, Codey (Fernanda), Garrett; 9 great-grandchildren and another on the way; sisters-in-law Carol and Bertie; and a significant family friend, Jenni.

Family will receive friends from 3:00p.m.-7:00p.m. MONDAY, JULY 1, 2024 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, Ohio 43143 (740)-869-2777 and again from 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m. TUESDAY, JULY 2, 2024. The Funeral Service will be held 11:00a.m. TUESDAY at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Stufflebeam, officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.
