Patsy "Pat" Smith

Patsy “Pat” Lee Smith, age 87 of Mt. Sterling, died early Wednesday morning March 29, 2023, at her home with her son and daughter by her side. She was born November 25, 1935, in London, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Hobert White and Bertha (Chamberlain) Sanders. Pat was a devoted member of OES Sterling Chapter #74.

Pat graduated from Mt. Sterling Highschool and served many decades in Pythian Sisters and Eastern Star recently receiving her 50-year member pin. She was a long-standing member of the local community and most of all loved by her family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Jim Smith, daughter, Brenda (Smith) Lafuse, and son-in-law Roger Johnson.

She is survived by son David (Kathy) Smith; daughter Kim Johnson; 4 grandchildren Brittany (Lafuse) (Chris) Rogers, Parker Lafuse, Ryan Smith, and Ashley (Johnson) (Bryan) Sockol; son-in-law Jeff Lafuse; 3 great-grandsons, Kayden Rogers, Noah Rogers, and Holden Rogers and a host of friends who she considered her family.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 2 – 6 p.m. at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling, Ohio 43143. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am on Monday, April 3, 2023. The interment will follow in Pleasant Cemetery.
