Peggy Jean (Helms) Puckett, age 66 of Mt. Sterling died Friday, June 27, 2014 at Mt. Carmel West, Columbus. She was born Nov. 28, 1947 in Oseala, Arkansas.
Preceded in death by parents James and Ermalee (George) Helms; father-in-law & mother-in-law Walter and Irene Puckett; brothers & sisters-in-law Leonard Furrow, Ray & Faye Howard.
Survived by husband of almost 50 years, Fred, Sr.; son Freddie (Cindy) Puckett, Jr.; daughter Rebecca Puckett (Richard Holland); grandchildren Joshua, Courtney, Ryan, Ian; great-grandchildren Kylie, Kira, Caitlynn, Allisynn; sisters Cathy Helms (Clyde Manning) and Pat (Leo) Wolfe; brother James Helms, Jr.; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Ron & Ruby Puckett, Marge & Glenn Williams, June Furrow, Walt & Diane Puckett, Shirley Puckett, and Larry Puckett.
A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Dortha Ross officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 5:00 p.m.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been requested. Peggy’s final resting place will be in Darbyville Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with their expenses.
