Phyllis A. Hulse, age 83, of Darbyville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017. She was born January 26, 1934 in Darbyville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Roy and Marie (Neff) Ankrom. A 1952 graduate of Monroe High School, Phyllis devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker who always put the needs of her family first. She was a faithful church member, who enjoyed baking and candy making with her church family. She was an avid gardener and a loyal fan of The Ohio State University.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Ray; brother, Ernest "Snap" Ankrom, and sister, Vivian "Sitter" Rasor. Surviving family includes daughters, Roxanne (Richard) Stacy, Jodi (Robert) Stasia; grandchildren, Erica (Seth) Lewis, Allison and Matthew Stasia, Krista Stacy; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Ryan Lewis; siblings, Bill Ankrom, Norma Fleming and Maxine Allison; sister-in-law, Mary Hulse; lifelong friend, Phyllis Jean Edwards; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Five Points United Methodist Church, 18112 Five Points Pike, Mount Sterling, Ohio. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Laura Clark officiating.
