Raymond "Buddy" Kennedy, 88 of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday, November 16, 2017 at his residence after suffering from Alzheimer's. He was born February 16, 1929 in Franklin County, Ohio. Ray loved his family and was a good Christian man. He was an avid Buckeye fan, Jack of all trades, loved old pictures, and if it had wings, he loved it, both flying his plane and birds. Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Freda (Douglas) Kennedy; brother John Kennedy; sisters Shirley Galbreath, Charlene Endres, and Janie Groff.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosie Kennedy; sons Dennis Kennedy, Reggie Kennedy, Robin (Melody) Kennedy, Rex (Lisa) Kennedy; daughter Kim (Randy) Alfred; 13 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rose Kennedy; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Mt. Sterling American Legion. Dickie Lugenbeel, Jr officiating with military honors being given to the US Army veteran. Family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 8 p.m. Come visit and celebrate his life with lots of food, cake and ice cream. The family has been served by the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling.
