Rev. Densil K. Wright

Reverend Densil K. Wright, of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, was born March 21, 1949 and died Saturday, June 23, 2018.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Lois (Atwood) Wright, his children Brian Densil (Katrina) Wright of Lockbourne, OH and Brandi Denise (Fabian) Graham of Columbus, his grandchildren: Zachary (Emma) Nance, Kameron Wright, Maranda (Jacob) Hicks, Brandon Salyers, Korey Wright, Tyler Graham, Olivia Graham and Emily Graham, great-grandchildren: John Christopher ”J.C.” Nance, Kole Christian Nance, Kason Densil Wright, Zachary Nance, Jr., Liam Hicks and one unborn granddaughter.  Also surviving are his brothers: Basil (Florence) Wright of Meigs County, OH, Darrell (Wanda) Wright of Circleville, OH, James Gambill of Athens, OH and Roger Gambill of Columbus; his sisters: Myrtle (Roger) McKnight of Williamsport, OH, Annie Darst of Athens, Linda Staley of Columbus, Pearl (Joe) Maui of Athens, Kathy (Mike) Fouch of Wilmington, OH, Connie (Jim) Bentz of Athens; his half-sisters: Zelda Neffeff of St. Paul, MN, Evaline Kidd of Springfield, OH and Edna Franklin of Florida; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Densil was preceded in death by his mother Emma Daniels Wright Gambill, father Elmer Wright, step-father Clifford Gambill, brothers Junior and Victor, half-brother Carl Wright, nephew Timmy Wright and niece Teresa Wright who drowned together in Deer Creek in 1978.  Densil worked in the drilling industry from 17 years of age until his death.  He honorably served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army.  He was a member of the South Columbus Freewill Baptist Church from 1973-1988 where he was also a deacon.  In 1978 God called Densil to preach and then in 1988 God moved him to the Mt. Sterling Freewill Baptist Church, first as an assistant pastor and then in 1989 he became pastor and served in that capacity until God called him home.  If Densil could tell those left behind only one thing it would be: “Get ready and stay ready.  Don’t be a part of that great falling away.”  Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00p.m. WEDNESDAY at the MT. STERLING FREEWILL BAPTIST CHURCH, 15938 Cook Avenue, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 where his Funeral Service will be held 11:00a.m. THURSDAY, JUNE 28, 2018 with Rev. J.D. Bowman, Jr., officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.  If they choose, friends may make memorial contributions to Mt.
