Richard M. "Dick" Dailey, 73, of West Jefferson, Ohio passed away on January 25, 2016.
Family will receive friends at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, in Mt. Sterling, Ohio on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10:00 am until noon. A celebration of life ceremony will begin at 12:00 noon and will offer an opportunity for friends and family to share their memories of Dick. Billy Warner officiating the special remembrances.

Dick was born on September 20, 1942 in Mt. Sterling, Ohio to Wilbur and Malissa Dailey. He was a lifelong resident of Madison County where he graduated from The Plains High School in 1960 and served in the Ohio National Guard from 1962 to 1968. Dick was actively engaged in farming for many years. He was a founder of the Family Farm Movement where he advocated for the rights of family farmers throughout the country, and was instrumental in the changes to bankruptcy legislation at both the State and Federal level. In 1985, Dick retired from farming and became the owner of Dailey's Appliance Service, where he worked with his son, Rick, throughout the county up to the time of his passing. Dick was an active member of the community where he ran for Madison County Commissioner and assisted with coaching the Madison Plains High School football team. Dick cherished time spent by the Little Darby Creek where he originally farmed his grandfather's farm, later developed the Enchanted Valley subdivision and eventually built the home where he has lived for the past 31 years.

Dick is lovingly remembered by his wife Jackie, daughter Jill, son Rick and his wife Angela, and three grandchildren Blake, Addison and Lance (Webb). He is survived by his brothers Doug (Pam), Jerry (Ruth), and Rodger (Janet), sister-in-law Barbara, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Malissa and brother Wilbur Jr. "Sonny".
