Richard Dorko, Jr.

Richard Dorko, age 68, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by family. He leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 43 years, Marlene (Roslan) and his children “Richie” and Michelle (Casey) Robinson. His heart melted over his grandchildren Clara and Myles. He is survived by his brothers Roger (Rose deceased), Russell (“Patti”), Raymond (Tracy) and sisters-in-laws Karen Dorko, Judy Stochl, Diane Zdrojewski and Rose (Donald) Beller, along with many nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong friend to Lenny Conetsco. Rich was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Eleanor (Wojtas), his brother Robert and brother-in-law Raymond Zdrojewski.

Rich was born in Cleveland, Ohio where he graduated from South High School in 1973. His desire to work in the printing industry led him to Columbus. He and Marlene bought their “starter” house in Mount Sterling and remained there for the rest of his life. There he loved spending time with his family and being involved with the community. He was a coach and volunteer for many local youth athletic teams in the area and became a referee. He loved riding his Harley, watching NASCAR races and working on cars or anything that needed fixing. He could talk to anyone and would try to help those around him. He was a kind, gentle soul who gave the best bear hugs. Later in life his biggest joys were being a loving and proud grandfather and staying connected to extended family and friends.

Family will receive friends in a Celebration of Life gathering at Pinnacle Golf Club grand ballroom, 1500 Pinnacle Golf Club Drive, Grove City, Ohio 43123, On August 13, 2023 from 1pm to 5pm. Lunch provided.
