WILSON Richard T. Wilson, age 86 of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, died August 3, 2011 at Autumn Care Center in Newark.
Associate of the Sterling Petroleum Co, Realtor, and Auctioneer. Graduate of Fairfield High School (1943). Scored 17 points in the title game to lead Fairfield as they won the County Basketball Tournament against Plain City, 1943. Was the high scorer and MVP for the tournament. Was an avid fisherman, hunter, and sportsman.
Preceded in death by wife of nearly 61 years, Doris; parents Martin A. & Elizabeth (Cartmille) Wilson; brothers, John, Robert (Betty), Thomas (Patricia), & Wayne; great granddaughters, McKenzie, Zoe, and Aspen Say.
Survived by son, Rick of Newark, Ohio; daughter Dawn (David) Riley of Ashville, Ohio. Grandchildren, Wendy (Dave) Say, Stacy Wilson, Dustin Wilson, Kevin & Kate Riley; great grandsons Hunter, Daishawn, and Daiveon Say; great granddaughters Kyala Coleman and Sacha East.
Brothers, Mart, Brad (Floanne), Eugene (Olive), & Raymond; sisters, Lucy (Bill) Harman & Helen (Robert) Perry; sisters-in-law, Gail Wilson & Mary Lou Wilson, other relatives.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 7, 2011 from 2 – 6 pm at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME 331 West Main Street, Mount Sterling, Ohio. The Funeral service will be at 11:30 am on Monday, August 8, 2011. Family will receive friends one hour prior to time of service. Rev. Steven Brown officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery.
