Rita had many jobs throughout her life, but her favorite was working with the kids on her bus as an aide with the Southwestern City School District. She loved family, including her grandchildren, her parrots and fishing. In August, 2011, she suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm that led to a stroke. After the doctors gave her nearly zero percent chance of living, she came to live in Mount Vernon where the whole family took care of her.
Family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Her final resting place will be in the Memorial Gardens of Olive Hill, Kentucky handled by Globe Funeral Home.
