Rosemary Garrison, age 86, formerly of Mt. Sterling, died Monday evening, July 9, 2012 at Liberty Nursing Center in Jamestown. She was born Dec. 21, 1925 in Logan, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Arlie and Louisa Mae (Arrick) Brimner.
Rosemary was a very proud great-grandmother; active member of the First United Methodist Church, Mt. Sterling; High School teacher of numerous subjects; bookkeeper of Garrison Heating & Electric; Girl Scout and Campfire leader; Quilt club; Mt. Sterling Garden Club; lifetime participant at the Lancaster Camp Grounds; china painting and amateur artist.
She was preceded in death by husband & soul mate, Eugene Garrison; sister, Marilyn; brother, Luther; and sister-in-law, Judy.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Peggy Garrison and husband Ken Truman of Hamilton, Ohio; Kathy and husband Bill Elasky of Stewart, Ohio; 3 grandchildren Luke (Morganna) Elasky, Beth (Jim) Simpson, Becky Elasky-Ewing (Sam); 6 great- grandchildren; brother Harold (Nilda) Brimner; many nieces and nephews.
On Friday, July 13, 2012 from 5 – 7 p.m. family will receive friends at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. A Private family burial will have taken place in Pleasant Cemetery. On Sunday, July 15, 2012 a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Sterling. Rev. Michael Berne officiating.
Family suggest memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church, Mt. Sterling or Lancaster Camp Grounds.
