Russell Eugene "Gene" Grim

Russell Eugene “Gene” Grim, age 100, of Madison Mills, OH passed away in his home, surrounded by this family, on Sunday, November 6, 2022. Gene was born in Mt. Sterling, OH on  October 29, 1922 to Worley and Lillian (Wardell) Grim.  He graduated from Madison Mills High School in 1942 and was a lifelong resident of Madison Mills and a lifetime career farmer.  He is survived by his children, James W. (Julia) Grim and Jane Grim; his grandchildren, Catherine (Matt) Ippisch and Sara (Jason) New; his great granddaughter, Victoria Grace New and other nieces and nephews.  Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Clarabelle (Rader), his brother Lawrence “Tek” Grim, his sister Elizabeth (Grim) MacBlane, and other nieces and nephews.

Gene’s hobby was his life.  He loved the farm and agriculture.  He also enjoyed sports, particularly bowling, basketball and baseball.  He was a skilled woodworker and drawer.  He also could fix just about anything. 

The family will receive friends Madison Mills United Methodist Church 9100 Madison Rd. NE in Madison Mills, OH on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm.  His funeral service will be on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 am at the church with a burial following at the Madison Mills Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Madison Mills United Methodist Church 9100 Madison Rd.
