Sarah Viola Cozad, age 82 of Washington Court House, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 in Fayette County Memorial Hospital. She was born July 21, 1929 in Ross County, Ohio.
She was employed by the State of Ohio for 22 years having worked at Orient Correctional; also secretary for State Highway Patrol in Jackson; and 10 years at the Record Herald. She was a member of the Mt. Sterling First Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Knox.
She is survived by daughters Beverly Graham (Brice) of South Point, OH., Judy Gill (Mike) of Washington C.H., and Sandy Fyffe (Mark) of Grove City; grandchildren Kim Haines (Jay) of Washington C.H. and Herbie Iles (Erica) of South Point; great-granddaughter Cheyanna Iles of South Point; sister Juanita Lockhart of Wellston; brother Junior Knox of Georgia.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling from 4 – 8 pm. On Friday, December 2, 2011 a Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at the MT. STERLING FIRST CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE at 226 N. Market St., Mt. Sterling, Ohio 43143. Rev. Ron Reynolds and Rev. Dortha Ross officiating with the interment following in Washington Cemetery.
