Sheila Ann (Lightfoot) Smalley, 68, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2021, at Adena Reginal Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio, due to COVID-19. She was born September 18, 1953, the oldest daughter of Vivian (Ward) and Raymond Lightfoot.
She grew up in Range, Ohio, and was a member of the first graduating class of Madison Plains School District in 1972.
She married Ted Smalley on April 6, 1980. They lived most of their married lives in Logan, Ohio. They had been married 37 years at the time of his death in 2016. She then moved to Baltimore, Ohio, and, was living in Washington Court House, Ohio, at the time of her death.
Sheila loved Elvis, doing word search puzzles, going to thrift stores, and watching old television shows, especially westerns. Her greatest joy was shopping from mail-order catalogs. Her home was filled with knickknacks and family pictures. As soon as one shelf got full, she would just add another one. She had a pure heart, generous spirit, and loved helping people. She had a great sense of humor and laughed often.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, including Richard Smalley. She is survived by sisters Susan (Albert Eccleston) Smalley, Sheryl (Jim) Smith, and Tina (Brian) Fleshman, several nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.
Funeral Services will be held at PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. MAIN ST., MOUNT STERLING, OH, 43143, on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 11:30 A.M., with Rev. Gordon Ell officiating, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Range Township Cemetery, Sedalia, Ohio.
