Sherry Kay McKinney

Mt. Sterling, Ohio

Sherry Kay McKinney, age 77, of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, died Saturday, April 27, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Columbus, Ohio.  Sherry was the last surviving of fifteen children born to the late Lilly (Yates) and Willard H. McKinney of Floyd County, Kentucky.  She was a graduate of Martin High School, Class of 1964, Martin, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Sherry was preceded in death by her son Kenneth James Allen.  She is survived by her children: Richard (Lisa) Allen, Debra (Mark Ward) Allen, Kimberly (Jimmy Vena) Shroyer, Lona D. (Amy Arnold) Meek, and Kenneth Howard Allen, Jr., her grandchildren: John Barnett, Ashley (Eric) Green, Ronald Gene Barnett, II, Gary Howard, Kimber (Devin Walker) Howard, Eathan (Angela Vance-Allen) Allen, Gabrielle (Clint Allred) Allen, and Kelsey (Travis Mayer) Meek, great-grandchildren: Aiden Lewis, Leeann Walker, Graycen Conley, Alexander Walker, Isaiah Fields, Elizabeth Howard, Greyson Allen,Josey Allred, and Justice Riley, and the many other loving members of the Yates and McKinney Families.

Family will receive friends from 3:00p.m.-4:00p.m. FRIDAY, MAY 31, 2024 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 West Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143 (740)-869-2777 where her Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 4:00p.m. FRIDAY with President John Lepard, presiding.  Private family burial will be held later this summer at the Jeff Hunter Cemetery, Printer, Kentucky.
