Steven “Steve” M. Hayslip, age 60 of New Holland passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 in his home. He was born July 26, 1951 in Franklin County, Ohio.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed competition bow shooting. He farmed, cut meat, and was employed at Sears for 25 years.
Preceded in death by parents Harry Jr and Edna B. Hayslip, sister Lila, and wife Edna R. Hayslip.
He is survived by daughters Heather (Willard) Stout of New Holland; granddaughters Felicia, Sierra, & Hayley; Julia (John) Lauer of Mt. Sterling, grandson Jacob; son Donnie of New Holland; step-sons Brett (Cathy) Ott, Wendell (Anka) Ott, Chuck (Candy) Swaggerty, Curt (Barb) Swaggerty, Tom (Sheila) Swaggerty; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 4 – 6 pm at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME 331 w. Main Street, Mt. Sterling, OH. 43143. At 6:00 pm a funeral service will be held with Pastor Matt Anders officiating. In keeping with Steve’s wishes, cremation will follow.
