Sylvia Lucille Capehart, age 62 of 14108 First Street Derby, OH. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, as the result of an auto accident on London Road northwest of Circleville.
Born Sylvia Lucille Edwards on Dec. 18th, 1949 at home in Hurricane, WV to the late Elmer and Pansy Edwards.
She was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. Married 26 years to her high school sweetheart the late John W. Sigmon on June 12th, 1965 and is survived by their 5 children; Kelly (John) Griffin of Circleville, OH., Orda (Wayne) Osborne of Derby, OH., Anna (Thomas) Conley of Procious, WV., John Sigmon Jr. (Rebecca) of Derby, OH., and Olivia Sigmon (Kevin) of Lockbourne, OH.
She has 17 grandchildren ; Diane, Ryan, Brian Jr., Justin, Nicole, McKenzie, Madison, Wayne Jr., Tara, Thomas Jr., Christopher, Jessica, the late Jr. III, Dakota, Haley, the late Alexander, and Leslie and 9 great-grandchildren; Lilliyan, Anthonthy, Serenity, Briana, Allison, Lillith, Zachary, Cameron, and Abigail. Also survived by her brothers Willard Edwards of New London, OH., Dennis Edwards of Yoder, CO., and Dillard Edwards. She has many other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her sister Mae Workman.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved animals, gardening, and being outdoors. She worked as a security guard for several years but was a Homemaker most of her life. She will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew her.
A Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Pastor Ron Dixon officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery in Era, OH. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 21st from 4 – 8 p.m.
