Theodore Jack Rogers, age 87 of Mt. Sterling died Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1926 in Buffalo, Missouri. He was the son of the late Joseph Clair Rogers and Leona Lea Cox.
Also preceding him in death was his wife, Helen Ruth Downs; brother Wynn (Beulah) Rogers; sister JoLee (Henry) Faber.
He is survived by sons Ted (Terrie) Rogers of Mt. Sterling, Terry Rogers (Leslie Tilton) of Columbus; brother Leonard (Pat) Rogers of Williamsport; grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
When Jack moved to Ohio he met his best friend, Helen in the fifth grade. They married in 1946 and remained together in love for 61 years until her death.
Jack was a Navy veteran of World War II; 62 year member of American Legion Post #618 of Williamsport; also a grain & livestock farmer.
A Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Debbie Nance officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday, January 27th from 4 – 7 p.m.
