Thomas Fullen

Thomas L. Fullen, 92, of Washington Court House, passed away on December 19th, 2024 at Carriage Court Assisted Living of Washington Court House. He was born on April 11th, 1932 to Sarah Elizabeth Shepherd and Luther Nelson Fullen in Muhlenberg, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Fullen of 57 years and his sister, Sarah (Tootie) Terflinger of Circleville, Ohio, and three daughters, Jill Smith of Blacklick, Ohio, Tammy O’Hara (William) of Florida, and Carol Clary (Rick) of Ray, Ohio, one sister Sarah (Tootie) Lee Turflinger of Circleville, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. He was a 1950 graduate of Monroe High School in Five Points, Ohio. Tom was a man of many trades. From being an Omar bread man in his early years, owning a donut shop, to also co-owning Larry’s Pizza Shop in Mount Sterling, Ohio with his wife Dorothy for 19 years. While being in the pizza shop business, he was also a Columbus firefighter for 26 years. Many of those years were served at fire station 10 where he made sure all of his crew were well fed due to his master cooking skills, often referred to as Chef Fullen. He retired from Columbus Fire Department in 1986. After his retirement, fishing, stump-grinding, hanging wall paper, setting up at flea markets, and attending auctions were just a handful of hobbies he enjoyed spending his time doing and getting to know people. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, son, Thomas Jr., five sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 26th at Porter-Tidd Mount Sterling, Ohio with calling hours from 11-1 and the funeral following right after at 1. Pastor Jim Blankenship will be officiating. Burial services will be held at New Holland Cemetery after the funeral.
