Timothy Hix

Timothy Mark Hix, previously of Mt. Sterling, passed away Sunday May 21, 2023, in Columbus, OH. Tim was born on December 31, 1954, in Columbus, OH to Pete and Joyce Hix. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by grandparents; Curtis and Margaret Hix, Rev Donald and Maxine Carter, Uncles; Mike and Steve Carter, John Haller and Aunts; Carol Haller and Ann Carter. Survived by his Uncles; Ed Hix, Don Carter, Aunts; Sharon and Debbie Carter, siblings Jennifer and Curt, numerous cousins and lifelong friends.

Tim graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School in 1973 and even though he had to participate in the workforce after graduation, he was able to continue doing what he truly loved – playing his guitar and banging the drums until a near fatal auto accident in 1975. His road back to a new way of life was
difficult and forever challenging, but he kept moving on with determination and true grit. Even though he was forever confined to a wheelchair, he learned to drive, owned his own home and never lost his
love for music. He had an LP collection like no one else, and could name every artist, original band, what instruments everyone played and what band an individual moved to next. A true Rock and Roll Encyclopedia. Tim had a great sense of humor, and while his short-term memory was forever affected,
he never forgot an old friend, or the times spent with them.

A guy deeply loved by his family and while our hearts are aching right now, we know your body and mind are healed, and you walked into heaven playing one of your favorite tunes.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 26, 2023, from 5-7 PM at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. MAIN STREET, MOUNT STERLING, OH 43143. A private graveside service for family will be held at Kirkwood Cemetery in London, at a later date.
