William C. (Charlie) Pennington 70, of Pancoastburg, Washington Court House, Ohio passed away at the Chillicothe V A Medical Center Saturday April 25th following an extended illness. He was born Dec. 8, 1944 in Morgan County, Kentucky to Ronald and Delia (Fyffe) Pennington,and was a U.S. Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 infant brothers, and brothers Ronnie, Bronard, and Eudell Pennington; one sister, Nova Pennington; sister-in-law Anna Lou Pennington and an infant nephew Ryan Penrod.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory one brother, Jimmy Pennington and Peggy of Paintsville, Kentucky; two sisters, Bert (Autie) Ison of Columbus, Ohio and Judy (Dean) Penrod of Washington Court House, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, and his canine companion and best friend Dante.
Charlie loved music, reading and studying different languages especially the German language and was most proud of the fact that he taught himself the German language; he loved reading and studying the Bible in different languages. Charlie loved everyone and he was loved in return by so many. We will miss him so much, our loss is Heaven's gain.
A Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Chalres Smith and Rev. Dan Justice officiating with the interment following in Springlawn Cemetery in Williamsport. The Circleville Amvets Post #2256 will perform a military service for the Vietnam Army veteran. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
